St. John’s University believes that every student needs a global
perspective for success in their personal and professional lives.
To this end, we offer a variety of study abroad options to suit
your needs. Intersession opportunities give you flexibility to take
additional credits in a short time period while enjoying the
advantages of studying abroad.
Our short-term programs provide all the benefits of intensive
experiential learning while accommodating students with more
specific academic or time concerns. As with all our programs,
you’ll make extensive use of the local environment as part of your
classroom experience.
St. John’s unique courses will immerse you in such disciplines
as language and culture, communications, history and art. In
addition, these programs allow you ample time to explore your
surroundings on your own and become immersed in your new home
cities.
Benefits include:
- Full immersion in a foreign country
- More affordable
- Focused on short-term coursework
- Popular destinations
- Academic Program
Programs are geared toward helping students gain immediate
foreign country immersion in a particular discipline between
semesters.
Previous offerings have taken students to Argentina, Brazil,
China, India, Italy, France, Russia, Spain, The Galapagos Islands
and Vietnam.
Winter intersession programs can benefit any student, but have
previously focused on the following majors: Business,
Communications, Fine Arts, Foreign language, Liberal Arts,
International Relations and Political Science majors.
Financial Aid Opportunities:
We strongly encourage students participating in our
Winter programs to apply for the
Licari Scholarship. This scholarship is open to both
undergraduate and graduate students who receive the Federal Pell
Grant in their financial aid package. The scholarship awards
students $750 to be used towards their program
fee.
