Dig your way through ancient Greece this summer!

Allow nearly five thousand years of Greek history to come to life as you live in Athens this summer! Join us for a three week pre-summer class that will give you a profound and dynamic understanding of archaeology and its contribution to our knowledge of ancient Greek history and civilization. Through our Greek Civilization and Archeology course you’ll visit the Parthenon in Athens, where you’ll gain new insights into past civilizations, as well as many other world-famous sites in this ancient city.

Within Athens, you’ll take field trips to sites like the Acropolis and the National Archaeological Museum (ranked one of the top 10 museums in the world), and the Museum of Cycladic Art. You’ll also take a walking tour of the Agora excavations, and an excursion to the famous port of Piraeus. 

Highlights include:

  • Walking tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum
  • Agora excavations tour and visit to Old "Plaka" neighborhood
  • Cycladic Museum tour
  • National Archeological Museum tour
  • Visit to the Port of Piraeus
  • Numismatic Museum Tour
  • Excursion to Cap Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon
  • Day trip to the island of Aegina
  • Excursion to Eleusis and tour of the Eleusinian Mysteries
  • Excursion to Delphi, home of the ancient Oracle
  • Excursion to Epidaurus, Mycenae
  • Beach day in Nauplion

Accommodations: This program is run through the world renowned Athens Center in the heart of the Ancient city. Hotel accommodations will be within an easy commute of the facility.
