An Amazing Semester, Living and Learning Abroad

All currently enrolled and matriculated, undergraduate St. John’s University students as well as undergraduate students from other accredited colleges and universities throughout the United States may apply to any Global Studies Program at St. John’s University.

Application Instructions

St. John’s Students
You must complete at least one year of full-time undergraduate study and must generally have a minimum 2.75 cumulate index to apply:

  1. Log on to St. John’s Central to fill out the online study abroad application.  Click on the UIS tab; choose “Student Services & Financial Aid,” then “Registration,” and finally “Global Studies Application.”
  2. Follow the instructions provided in UIS, including selecting your courses for study abroad.

Visiting (Non-St. John’s) Students
You must complete at least one year of full-time undergraduate study and must generally have a minimum 2.75 cumulate index to apply:

  1. Download and complete the Application and program-related Course Approval form. Your application is complete only when both of these forms are submitted.
  2. Have your dean or academic advisor sign the Course Approval form to confirm your eligibility to take your chosen course(s). Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that the study abroad courses you choose will bear credit at your home institution.
  3. Submit a personal statement.
  4. Provide an official transcript from your home institution(s).
  5. Provide written approval/letter of recommendation from your dean or academic advisor.
