Campus, located just a 5-10 minute walk from the residence. The
University of Seville is one of the top educational institutions in
Europe, with a history that dates back to the 16th century and a
reputation as one of the major centers of Spanish culture. The
university has been historically influential in both political and
ecclesiastical matters throughout the region.
Other
highlights of the city include its lavish Holy Week celebrations,
colorful history as a hotbed for flamenco clubs and its wealth of
academic and historical resources, such as the Archivo General de
Indias, the world's largest compendium of historical archives
documenting the history of the Spanish empire in the Americas and
the Phillippines.
