Our expanded Discover the World: Latin America option offers you
a dynamic, deeply personal understanding of the local and global
forces shaping the region. This unique program takes you to three
locations:
San José, Costa Rica;
San Juan, Puerto Rico; and
Cholula, Mexico. Cholula is in the Mexican state of Puebla and
is minutes away from the capital city of Puebla. You spend five
weeks in each location.
Taught in English, your courses focus on Spanish language and
literature as well as Latin American culture and art. As you travel
to three different locations, you’ll notice the unique
characteristics distinguishing the Caribbean, Central America and
Mexico. In Puerto Rico, you’ll explore the museums of Old San Juan
as you learn about the island’s history. In Costa Rica, you’ll
marvel at the biodiversity in a butterfly farm outside San Jose;
indeed, you may even be lucky and see the famous three-toed sloth.
Finally, Mexico’s remarkable mix of indigenous and Colonial
cultures will impress you as you experience the city of Puebla.
