The Luxembourg Gardens, the Musee
d'Orsay, and fantastic shopping all within walking
distance!
The St. John’s Paris
campus is situated in the popular St-Germain district and is within
a six-story structure containing approximately 20,000 square feet
of space offering a mixture of residences, classrooms, office and
support space.
The adventure of
this district lies in discovering the narrow streets and hidden
squares that bring the city’s historic and literary associations to
life.
Dominated for centuries by a vast Benedictine abbey,
St-Germain-des-Prés came into vogue in the early 20th century as a
center of intellectual and artistic life, home to jazz clubs and
literary cafés. Students will gain an understanding of French
culture by being immersed in this artistic neighborhood. Though the
recent arrival of couture and designer boutiques is changing the
neighborhood’s character, its narrow side streets still boast art
galleries, bookstores and cozy café terraces.
The Boulevard St-Germain stretches for two miles between the
Pont de Sully, which crosses to the Île St-Louis, to the Pont de la
Concorde. This area boasts many tourist attractions such as Notre
Dame, Louvre Museum, Musee d’Orsay and Jardin du Luxembourg – all
within reach of our campus.
