Frank Mikus joined the St John’s Paris Campus in September 2012
when he took on his current role of Coordinator of Student Life.
Originally from Philadelphia, Frank completed his undergraduate
studies in international relations at The George Washington
University before embarking on an exciting adventure living,
studying, and teaching in France for over five years. More
recently, he earned his Master’s degree in nineteenth century
French history from the Université de Nantes.
At St. John’s, Frank’s responsibilities include planning activities
and excursions designed to highlight the best of what Paris and
French life have to offer. As Coordinator of Student Life, he
regularly helps students on their path towards further cultural and
linguistic discovery. An enthusiastic advocate of global education,
Frank says that “studying abroad is the first and most important
step towards developing the type of cross-cultural understanding
required of students in the twenty-first century.”
Frank’s passion for Paris is represented best by the delightfully
simple things the City of Light affords every visitor. Once you’ve
seen the Eiffel Tower, he recommends heading to one of Paris’ many
pâtisseries (pastry shop) for a uniquely delicious slice of French
life! In that same vein, Frank’s favorite activity in Paris is to
picnic along the banks of the Seine river. “I usually like to set
up shop right behind Notre Dame with some tasty snacks and good
company—il n’y a rien de mieux!”
