Description:
This Academic Lecture Series will explore a famous and dramatic

African origins and cultural logic; its American chapter, in which
the insurrectionists built an alliance with abolitionists and waged
a legal battle while in jail; and its Atlantic consequences, in
Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
