An Amazing Semester, Living and Learning
Abroad
Turn your semester into an incredible study abroad experience and
apply for one of the many Global Studies opportunities we have to
offer. All currently enrolled and matriculated, undergraduate St.
John’s University students as well as undergraduate students from
other accredited colleges and universities throughout the
United States may apply to any Global Studies Program at St. John’s
University.
Application Instructions
St. John’s Students
Decisions on admission are made in accordance with St. John's
University's policy, which provides for the complete processing of
applications as soon as all required materials are received. At
that time, a decision is made and the prospective student is
notified.
Although we review applications on a rolling basis, we encourage
students to apply as early as possible to increase their chances of
receiving financial aid and being admitted into their first choice
program. For the fall semester, we encourage students to apply by
April 15; for spring, November 2; and for summer, March 30. We will
continue to accept applications past these suggested dates on a
space-available basis.
Once you are an accepted student, in order to secure your place
in the program, all accepted students are required to submit a $250
non-refundable deposit.
Students who will not have reached the age of 18 by the time of
the beginning of their study abroad semester must secure and
provide parental permission.
You must complete at least one year of full-time undergraduate
study and must generally have a minimum 2.75 cumulate index to
apply:
- Log on to St. John’s Central to fill out the
online study abroad application. Click on the UIS tab; choose
“Student Services & Financial Aid,” then “Registration,” and
finally “Global Studies Application.”
- Follow the instructions provided in UIS, including selecting
your courses for study abroad.
Attention all Graduate
Students
Please be advised that graduate students are not able to apply
for graduate level courses through the St. John's UIS system.
Graduate students must file a paper application and an approved
course option form. To apply, print the
Application PDF and Course
Option form, complete the Application and submit to the Office
of Global Studies located in Marillac Terrance (opposite
Campus Ministry). The Course Option form should be
signed by your Dean or Academic Advisor to ensure that you
will receive credit toward your course of study.
