Discover the World: Europe

Join us for St. John’s expanded, multi-city Discover the World: Europe program for spring 2008 and choose to spend your semester in three of these remarkable cities—Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France; Rome, Italy; and Salamanca, Spain.

Through multi-faceted academics and service activities, you’ll encounter extraordinary new opportunities to engage in the people and cultures of modern Europe.

A New Way to Learn

Vibrant academics and on-site learning—these are the hallmarks of Discover the World: Europe. Each class transforms your host cities’ cultural and historic resources into key components of your learning experience.

Discover the World: Europe features an innovative, modular class format that splits your 15-week semester into three, five-week sessions. This way, you’ll have only one or two courses in each city, allowing you to fully concentrate on and absorb your course work.

The most exciting resource will be the people you meet outside the classroom. You’ll learn Spanish while enjoying chocolate con churros at a local café, or practice French while ordering a croque monsieur on the Left Bank.

With access to so many new people and places, you’ll want to explore your surroundings on your own as well. That’s why we typically schedule classes four days a week, so you’ll have three days a week to study, travel and “discover” on your own.

Application Deadline - November 15, 2007
Have Paris be your classroom, see the beautiful Vatican and its treasures and marvel at Salamanca's vast collection of Renaissance architecture this fall.
