Overview

The Insurance Society of New York (ISNY) was established in 1901 to provide a high-quality education and a first-rate library for young people and working professionals. In 1962, ISNY's School of Insurance formally became a fully accredited College. As of June 1, 2001 The College of Insurance merged with St. John's University and is now known as the School of Risk Management and Actuarial Science.

The Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Library will continue to serve the Insurance Industry as well as the needs of St. John's University. Today, individuals and institutions can take advantage of the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Library's vast insurance resources through membership in the Insurance Society of New York (ISNY). Current membership stands at over 200 corporations (or other business entities) and over 300 individuals, including:

  • Insurance companies
  • Industry researchers and analysts
  • Management consultants
  • Investment and commercial bankers
  • Editors of industry newsletters and general business press
  • Authors
  • Law firms
  • Agents and brokers
  • Insurance regulators
  • Business and insurance educators
