Core Course Waivers

Core Course Waivers and Proficiency Exams

Tobin College MBA students are allowed to waive up to 27 credits of core level courses based upon their prior academic performance. The courses that are eligible for a waiver are as follows:

In select cases, students will be permitted to sit for proficiency exams to exempt themselves from classes that were not waived by the Dean's Office.

Proficiency Exams are offered during January and August of every year, generally two weeks prior to the start of each term.  Please contact the Dean's office in order to register for the exams. You will be assessed a non-refundable $40 fee for each exam taken.

It is important that you prepare adequately prior to taking the proficiency exam, as you will be permitted to sit for a test only once. Students are contacted individually with their grades within 72 hours of taking the exam.
