Tobin College Announces Establishment of Graduate Dean's Scholars Program

February 14, 2007

Queens Campus (February 14, 2007) -

The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University is pleased to announce the establishment of its Graduate Dean’s Scholars Program. The Program will enroll its first group of Dean’s Scholars in the fall 2007 semester.

Individuals will be selected for this honor based upon previous academic achievements, leadership experience and/or potential, commitment to their community, and potential for business success.  This small group of awardees will receive both recognition as a Dean’s Scholar as well as a partial tuition scholarship to offset the costs of attending the Tobin College MBA Program.   Only new part-time students who display outstanding academic credentials will be considered for this merit-based scholarship. There is no need to submit an additional application for this scholarship, as all students applying to the MBA program on a part-time basis will be considered.

In commenting on this new program, Dean Richard A. Highfield said, “As the quality of our student body has improved markedly over the last few years, this opportunity to formally recognize our very best students will help to further distinguish both their own achievements and the College.”
