Students from the St. John’s Alpha Iota chapter of Gamma Iota
Sigma (GIS) received top honors in 10 categories during the parent
organization’s Annual Management Conference in Mount Pleasant,
Michigan during the weekend of September 28-October 2, 2010.
Nearly a dozen chapter members were in attendance to
congratulate Rajiv Sagewan, chapter president, as he received the
Warren L. Weeks Leadership scholarship for his outstanding efforts
to further the goals of his chapter and the fraternity. The other
nine awards included public relations, alumni relations, chapter
management, membership development and community service honors as
well as awards for innovative and unique events.
the last three years the Alpha Iota chapter received Chapter Roll
Call, Dedicated Service and Black & Gold awards. This year’s
honors demonstrate the chapter’s continued growth and outstanding
commitment to service.
Since November 1991, St. John’s has maintained an active chapter
that currently has 63 graduate and undergraduate members and 21
alumni members to its credit.
Gamma Iota Sigma, an international collegiate professional
