This workshop will focus on the increasingly critical skills of information literacy, described by some as a “new liberal art.” It requires a comprehensive set of abilities to identify infor-mation need, locate and evaluate information, understand how it is socially and culturally situated, and then use it effectively. Cooper and Turner will discuss their own experiences working collaboratively as well as independently on projects requiring students to embrace information literacy not only for specific projects, but as a key part of their life-long learn-ing skill-set.
