Dr. Victoria L. ShoafAssociate Professor of Accounting and
Taxation
Associate Professor Victoria L. Shoaf, holds a Ph.D. in Accounting
from the Baruch College of the City University of New York and has
successfully completed all parts of the Certified Public
Accountancy examination. Her dissertation addressed "Investors'
Valuation of Voluntary and Mandatory Disclosures: Geographic
Segment Earnings." Professor Shoaf has published her research
articles in such peer-reviewed journals as:
Business
Horizons, the
Journal of Business Ethics, Bank Accounting
& Finance, the
Review of Business, and the
Commercial Lending Review, and she has published a chapter
in a book. She has also presented twenty-two papers that have
been included in the proceedings of or as abstracts to such
international, national, and regional academic forums as: the
American Accounting Association, the Global Business and Technology
Association, the Institute for Operations Research and the
Management Sciences, the Institute Business Administration and
Technology, the International Conference Promoting Business Ethics,
the International Association for Business and Society, and the
Northeast Business and Economics Association.
Professor Shoaf has professional experience as the Vice
President - Finance for Tie Rack, Inc., as Principal in BJV
Associates and as Controller at Laura Ashley, Inc. and at Greef
Fabrics, Inc. She has also provided consulting services to Deloitte
& Touche and is currently obtaining the required experience to
become a certified public accountant.
