Professor of Management
Dr. Magee-Egan earned her B.S, M.S. and PhD degrees in Psychology from Fordham University. She began her teaching career in 1958 and has also taught at New York University, Iona College and St. Vincent’s Hospital. In addition to her teaching at St. John’s she served as an internal consultant at the University, Director of the Internship program and Associate Dean for External Affairs at Tobin College. Dr. Magee-Egan has served as a consultant and psychologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital, a consortium of banking institutions, the National Council of Churches, the Salvation Army, the National Science Foundation, the American Management Association, Executive Enterprises and the United Nations Secretariat. She is a Past President of the Personnel, Industrial and Organizational Division of New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA). She has also served the American Management Association as a Consultant Speaker and Chairperson. In this capacity she toured nationally giving seminars in training and developing managers, supervisors and women newly appointed to corporate management. She has designed programs for human resource managers from numerous corporations. Dr. Magee-Egan has developed studies in Ethics in Investment Companies; Media bias; Management dilemmas in training employees in ethics; and studies on Corporate Corruption. Her presentations and paper proceedings have taken her to conferences nationally and internationally to Brazil, Argentina, Budapest, Portugal, and Spain.
Dr. Magee-Egan's many honors and awards include membership in Who’s Who in America; Who’s Who in Industry and Finance, International Speakers Platform, Psi Chi, American Scholars, Who’s Who in American Women, and the Skull and Circle Society. She is a recipient of a St. John’s University Faculty “Outstanding Achievement Medal” and was recently awarded St. John’s University “President’s Medal." Dr. Magee-Egan is a New York State licensed Psychologist.
