Richard Lai, LL.M.

Associate Professor of Accounting and Taxation

Richard T. Lai holds a LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is currently registered as a licensed Attorney and Certified Public Accountant in New York State. Professor Lai has published numerous articles in the federal taxation area in such professional journals as the Practical Accountant and TAXES – The Tax Magazine. He obtained his public accounting experience at KPMG and since has provided extensive tax consulting and planning for various business entities and individuals. In addition, he has delivered numerous presentations to Internal Revenue Service auditors and examiners in their Continuing Professional Education Program. Professor Lai is a prior year recipient of the St. John’s Student Government Professor of the Year, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business award.
