Professor of Accounting and Taxation
Professor Adrian P. Fitzsimons holds a Ph.D. from the New School for Social Research and a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from St. John’s University. He is currently a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York, a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Information Systems Auditor, and a Certified Management Accountant. Dr. Fitzsimons has taught at St. John’s for over 25 years and currently serves as Chair of the Department of Accounting and Taxation. He has written extensively on accounting, auditing, and SEC topics.
Dr Fitzsimons currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and is a member of the AICPA, ISACA, CFA Institute, and the IMA. He lives in New Hyde Park with his wife Sarah and two children, Leigh and Luke.
