Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance
Mikael C. Bergbrant is an Assistant Professor in the department of Economics and Finance at St. Johns University. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Finance (MS) degree from the University of South Florida. He has successfully completed the CFA examinations, and is in the process of applying for the CFA charter.
Dr. Bergbrants research interests are in the areas of Asset Pricing as well as International Finance. His dissertation essays investigated segmentation of the US equity markets in general and the impact of expected idiosyncratic volatility in particular. Dr. Bergbrants teaching interests are primarily in the investments area, and classes that he frequently teaches are Investments (FIN 3312), Investment Analysis (FIN 634) and Fixed Income Analytics (FIN 638). In addition, he teaches managerial finance classes at the undergraduate and graduate level (FIN 3310 and FIN 633).
