Assistant Professor of Marketing
Dr. Canan Corus recently received her Ph.D. in marketing from the Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech, holds an MBA from SUNY at Binghamton and a B.S. in engineering from METU in Ankara, Turkey. Prior to starting her academic career, Canan worked in the marketing division of the KOC Group in Turkey.
Her research interests include corporate social responsibility, particularly interactions of corporations and communities, as well as methods of deliberation for stakeholder participation in corporate decision making. Her research has also focused on consumer welfare, low health literacy and effectiveness of health related messages. She has also worked on individual differences regarding self-control and targeted health messages. Her teaching interests include advertising and consumer behavior.
