Thomas M. Boyd, M.B.A.Professor of Accounting and
TaxationProfessor Thomas M. Boyd earned an MBA from New York University;
his thesis focused on "Impact of the Development of EDP Centers on
Auditing Procedures for Savings & Loan Associations." He is
currently registered as a Certified Public Accountant in the State
of New York. Professor Boyd's primary interest is in the
application of accounting and tax developments within the financial
community. This has led him to involvement with many national and
multinational corporations and enables him to bridge the gap
between academia and the business community.
Professor Boyd is the Vice President elect and current Secretary
of the Queens Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs and has
actively participated on its Recruitment Committee. He is a
director on the board of trustees of Bridge to Life, Inc., an
organization that assists women in need. He is the recipient
of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Excellence in Education Award and the
University's Faculty Outstanding Achievement Award.
Professor Boyd has published five books and ten articles in such
peer-reviewed journals as: The CPA Journal, Taxation for
Accountants, Commercial Lending Review, the Review of
Business, Bank Accounting & Finance, and the
Purchasing Management Association. He also published two
articles in professional journals and two instructional manuals:
Analytical Tools for Purchasing-Financial Analysis, and
Financial Analysis for Procurement Managers. He has also
made fourteen presentations to academic and professional bodies and
has been published in their proceedings.
