Dr. Boone received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh in 1987 as well as an M.S. in Industrial Engineering (Engineering Management) in 1983 and a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University in 1974.
Dr. Boone held positions in industry between 1974-1987. These positions included Quality Assurance Manager for the Mine Safety Appliances Company, Liaison Engineer for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and Industrial Engineer for PPG Industries.
Dr. Boone's primary research and teaching interests involve organization theory and behavior, managerial decision making, creative thinking, strategic planning, entrepreneurship, and management information systems.
His publications include: "Educating the Educators: Faculty Development Related to Institutional Mission in Business Schools", in Journal of Academy of Business Administration; "CONFIDE: A Collective Decision Making Procedure Using Confidence Estimates of Individual Judgments", in Group Decision and Negotiation; "Computer-Based Systems and Organizational Decision Making: An Architecture to Support Organizational Innovation", in Creativity Research Journal; "The Context of Decision Making in Organizations: A Factor Analysis," in Advances in Information Processing in Organizations; "Critical Success Factor Analysis for Information System Performance Measurement and Enhancement", in Information and Management; "Creative Thinking in Business Organizations", in Review of Business; and Embracing the Future: Meeting the Challenge of Our Changing World, with Thomas L. Saaty.
Dr. Boone is an active member of the Academy of Management, the Decision Sciences Institute, and the American Association for Higher Education. He has consulted for Innodyne, Inc., PPG Industries, Organization Design Consultants, several universities, and a variety of non-profit groups.
