Dr. Barrese is a Professor in St. John's University's Department of Risk Management.  A frequent presenter at academic conferences, Jim has also given testimony to committees of the U.S. Senate and House. Educated at Princeton, McMaster, and Rutgers Universities, Jim has presented or attended programs at Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Harvard Universities, published dozens of articles in a variety of U.S. and European journals, and served on the editorial boards of both industry and academic journals, and as a board member of a national student service society.

Dr. Barrese has also served as a consultant on tax policy to New York State and the Internal Revenue Service. He has held voluntary advisory appointments to New York's Tax and Finance Department, the N.Y. Governor's Council on Fiscal and Economic Priorities, and the federal Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations Thinkers Group.
