Dr. Vipul K. BansalAssociate Professor of Economics and Finance
Dr. Bansal, Ph.D., CFA, CFP, received his doctoral degree from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Bansal's research interests are in the new fast developing field of Financial Engineering. He is the co-author (with John Marshall) of Financial Engineering: A Complete Guide to Financial Innovation (NYIF) and Financial Engineering (Blackwell). He has also authored a number of scholarly articles on various aspects of financial engineering. He is also Associate Director and Treasurer of the International Association of Financial Engineering.
He frequently publishes in several leading business and finance journals including Financial Analyst Journal, Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, Financial Review, Corporate Risk Management, Derivative Insights, MidWestern Journal of Business and Economics, Advances of Working Capital Management, Advances in Futures and Options Research, Journal of International Finance, Journal of Retail Banking, Global Finance Journal, Journal of Derivatives, and AAII Journal.
He has contributed chapters to many academic books including Swaps and Related Risk Management Instruments, The Swaps Handbook Supplement. Advanced Strategies in Financial Risk Management, and Cases in International Corporate Finance.
He is very much interested in topics of personal finance. He is a Certified Financial Planner(CFP). He specializes in retirement and tax planning. He is also a consultant to individuals and institutions in this area. In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has acted as an expert witness in Immigration and Naturalization matters.
