The Center for Professional Education offers exam preparation
for the following programs:

Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter
(CPCU)
Recognized throughout the property/liability insurance industry,
the CPCU designation is earned after successful completion of eight
national exams administered by the American Institute for Chartered
Property/Casualty Underwriters (AICPCU) and by meeting AICPCU
experiential and ethics requirements. The Center offers a series of
preparatory courses designed to help candidates successfully
complete the program of study.
Who should enroll?
Experienced insurance industry personnel who possess a strong
knowledge of insurance practices; accountants, attorneys, business
school graduates, and other professionals whose jobs require an
understanding of property/liability insurance and risk
management.
The Curriculum
The curriculum consists of 11 courses. Students must pass a total
of eight courses: the five foundation courses, plus either the
commercial or the personal concentration, each of which is three
courses, to earn the CPCU designation.

Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
The Center offers a series of courses that prepare
professionals for the three national exams administered by the
Insurance Institutes of America (IIA), required to earn the IIA's
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
Who should enroll?
Professionals whose careers involve managing exposures to
accidental losses in a cost-effective manner; corporate and
government risk managers; safety personnel; insurance producers and
consultants; and insurance company commercial lines
specialists.

Associate in Reinsurance (ARe)
The Center offers courses to prepare professionals for the four
IIA-administered national examinations required to earn the
Institutes' Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation.
Please note that as of Spring 2005, the ARe curriculum
has been revised. The course list below conforms to the new
curriculum.
Who should enroll?
Reinsurance and insurance professionals with a basic understanding
of insurance principles, including property/liability contracts as
well as reinsurance intermediaries, primary insurers, and other
professionals who wish to gain a more specialized knowledge of
reinsurance.

wish to certify their competence in inland and ocean marine
insurance; marine specialists who wish to broaden their knowledge
of the field; or generalists who want to acquire expertise in the
marine field.

assist those who require a relatively brief yet comprehensive study
of insurance principles, operations, and coverages. Classes prepare
professionals for the three IIA-administered national examinations
required to earn the Institutes' Insurance Certificate (INS)
designation.
Who should
enroll?
Individuals new to the insurance industry who require a basic
understanding of insurance terminology, contracts, insurance
company core policies, reinsurance, and
regulation.
