The Department of Pharmacy and
Administrative Science (PAS) teaches students the knowledge,
attitudes and skills required for contemporary clinical pharmacy
practice. Lectures, multisensory programs offered by the Resource
Center, as well as individual and group conferences with faculty,
physicians and preceptors, give students knowledge of the
principles and processes required to manufacture, stabilize,
preserve, store and dispense both official and non-official dosage
forms. Classroom and conference discussions offer the opportunity
for students to develop their creative talents in compounding and
formulating dosage forms.
Master of
Science in Pharmacy Administration
On the graduate level, the objectives of
the Department of Pharmacy and Administrative Science are to
prepare students interested in Pharmacy Administration for
positions in institutional pharmacy practice and in pharmaceutical
marketing, and to equip students interested in the pharmaceutical
sciences for careers in industry - particularly in the areas of
industrial pharmacy and cosmetic sciences. Programs are designed to
provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes
to enable them to assume a leadership role in either an
institutional or industrial setting.
