Welcome to the College of Pharmacy and
Health Sciences
On behalf of the students, faculty, staff and
administrators of St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and
Health Sciences, welcome to our webpage. We are committed to
excellence in education, scholarship and service to provide our
students with the knowledge, skills and the support they need, now
and in the future, to practice as pharmacists, physician
assistants, clinical laboratory and radiologic technicians, and
toxicologists. We offer innovative Doctor of Pharmacy and B.S.
programs of study utilizing active learning approaches that are
student-centered and encourage life-long learning. As a community
of scholars, we are committed to the discovery, communication and
application of basic and clinical knowledge as critical components
for the development of healthcare professionals and scientists. Our
graduates are prepared for careers in their chosen health
profession with a focus on our responsibilities for public health
and service that is grounded in ethics and social justice.
The College offers graduate-level degrees in Pharmaceutical
Sciences, Pharmacy Administration, and Toxicology. Advanced
programs leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. are offered with
specialization in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Toxicology and
Industrial Pharmacy. In addition, the M.S. degree is offered in
Pharmaceutical Marketing, Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance and
Biological and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. Recently we received
approval to offer a program for the Master of Public Health
(M.P.H.). Research-based graduate programs prepare our students for
careers in academia, pharmaceutical industry and government.
Our metropolitan location gives us cultural diversity and our
mission embodies the principles of the University’s mission
statement: “to provide a quality education in an environment that
