The highest result of education is tolerance
. --Hellen Keller
In keeping with St. John’s strong core values as a Vincentian
institution, this workshop will help you increase your
understanding of the value of diversity in the workplace and in the
multicultural society in which we all live.
• How the academic case for diversity impacts higher education in
general and St. John's University specifically.
• To practice skills that will lead to greater responsiveness to
students and co-workers.
• A greater appreciation for why understanding, responsiveness and
openness to diversity are important to the St. John's mission and
• How your personal attributes may enhance your contribution to
the University's diversity efforts.
Note: Please coordinate participation among the
supervisors in your department so that supervisors and direct
reports do not attend the same session. This is recommended so that
all may speak freely during the session.
