Mark Rand, Ph.D., MPH, completed his doctorate
in Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School in 1983. He
is licensed as a psychologist in New York State since 1984. From
1983 to 1989 he served as Senior Psychologist and Team Leader on
the Forensic Psychiatry Service at Kings County Hospital,
conducting competency evaluations for the Criminal and Supreme
Courts in Brooklyn and Queens. From 1989 until 2007 he worked as
Chief Psychologist at the Sunset Park Mental Health Center, where
he also served as coordinator for Project Second Try, a program
funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention
for the treatment of youngsters identified as sexual perpetrators.
Dr. Rand was also responsible for the APA-accredited psychology
training program at the center, which included training in forensic
psychology. In 2000 Dr. Rand founded Forensic Psychological
Services of New York, PLLC, where his main work has been conducting
court ordered forensic evaluations. Beginning in 2009 he was
appointed as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology at New York
City College of Technology of CUNY, where he teaches courses in
Child Psychology. Dr. Rand has completed more than one thousand
court ordered forensic evaluations for courts in the five boroughs.
He has been qualified as an expert in more than eighty custody
cases. Dr. Rand has conducted numerous training activities,
including presentations on child custody evaluations.
