I’m currently working on the book: Word and Risk: Christian Social Witness and Postmodernity. This book principally engages the theological ethics of Karl Barth, while addressing current issues in Christian social ethics, including the market economy and globalization, work and leisure, church and state, politics and war, and social and environmental justice.
He has published the book: Dependence and Freedom: The Moral Thought of Horace Bushnell (University Press of America, 1994). He further wrote an extensive introductory essay in, Karl Barth, Community, Church, and State: Three Essays. With a New Introduction by David Haddorff (Wipf & Stock, 2004): 1-69.
Some of his more recent articles include: “The Postmodern Realism in Barth’s Ethics” in the Scottish Journal of Theology 57/3; and “Religion and the Market: Opposition, Absorption, or Ambiguity?” in Review of Social Economy 58/4. He has published many other articles in journals such as: Union Seminary Quarterly Review, Horizons and Encounter.
He has numerous presentations in national and international conferences including: Annual Meeting of the Society of Christian Ethics, National Conference of the American Academy of Religion, Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference of the American Academy of Religion, Annual Meeting of the College Theology Society, Annual Conference of Church History, Annual Conferences of Christian Philosophy, and International Conference Promoting Business Ethics.
