Dr. Wiseheart’s research focuses on understanding the complex relationships between language development and cognitive processes in children and adults with dyslexia. She is particularly interested in understanding how mental representations of words affect naming and word retrieval processes for reading, speaking, and perhaps even mathematics. She brings to her teaching and research over 17 years of clinical experience providing therapy for school-aged children with reading, language, and learning disabilities. She is a member of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR), the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), and the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
