Patrick R. Walden, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Dr. Walden is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders on St. John’s University’s Staten Island campus. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership: Adult and Community Education at the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. He is a nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist with research interests in leadership and administration in the professions, scholarship of teaching and learning, and language assessment and intervention across the lifespan. His professional experience has centered on neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders in addition to extensive roles in leadership, management and human resource development in healthcare. Dr. Walden is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as the Acoustical Society of America and is active in research focused on Speech-Language Pathologists’ informal learning in medical environments as well as pedagogical/andragologic approaches to education in acoustics.
