Dr. Linda Carozza has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at St. John's University- Notre Dame College Division located in Staten Island, New York since 2007. She received her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the City University Graduate Center, specializing in neurogenic communication disorders in adults.
Her work in the language processes associated with Alzheimer's disease and dementia has appeared in international journals such as Acta Neuropsychologica. Additionally, Dr. Carozza works in the field as a clinical specialist consultant in the area of adult acquired language disorders including aphasia and dysarthria at the New York University Langone Medical Center. Her research interests have focused on adult language and motor speech impairments, with secondary concentration in medical speech pathology as well as the mentorship of speech professionals. Her professional experience includes lead administration, teaching, and clinical positions in addition to a select private practice.
Dr. Carozza is a member of the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as the Academy of Neurological Communication Sciences and Disorders. Her engagement with the profession over the last 25 years led to the publication of her recent book, Science of Successful Supervision and Mentorship, Plural Publishing (2010).
