Criminology as a Career
Our MA program is designed to prepare students for a wide array of new career possibilities, current career advancements, as well as provide a solid liberal arts foundation for further education.  Our graduates will be prepared to:

  • enter law school
  • enter a doctoral program for careers in academia
  • work as a research/policy analyst for governmental and non-governmental agencies
  • teach in a community college setting
  • pursue further scientific training to engage in forensic science investigation
  • enter federal law enforcement as agents within the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, ATF, DEA, Marshal, INS, Customs, etc.
  • work for city or state government in any number of law enforcement or corrections capacities
  • work as a private investigator

Research Assistantships
Applicants with a strong academic background and Graduate Records Examination (GRE) scores are invited to make application for a departmental Research Assistantship.  The GRE is required for consideration.
