Biography

Dr. Bergman received her bachelor’s degree in 1984 from Cornell University, where she majored in Human Development and Family Studies.  She went on to receive her Ph.D. in clinical psychology (child track) from Emory University in 1989 after she completed an APA approved internship in child clinical at the University of Alabama at Birmingham – Medical Consortium.  After receiving her Ph.D., she worked at Elmhurst Hospital Center and Mount Sinai Hospital as a senior psychologist for the schizophrenia research unit.  In 1992 she joined the faculty in the psychology department at St. John’s University as an Assistant Professor, and was awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in 1998.
