Entrance Requirements

Applicants are expected to have taken a major sequence in mathematics as undergraduates. Where a deficiency exists in academic preparation, the Department’s Educational Policy Committee will determine which courses the applicant must take in order to matriculate as a graduate student.

Students with foreign academic credentials may be required to submit GRE scores. Applicants may obtain more detailed information by contacting the Coordinator of Graduate Advisement, Dr. Charles Traina, care of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department.

With Departmental approval, exceptionally qualified undergraduates may take graduate courses for deferred credit toward the M.A. degree.
