The Division of Library and Information Science at St. John's
University was founded in 1937 and offers the Master of Library
Science (MLS) degree.
The program, accredited by the American Library Association
through Spring 2011, is taught by faculty recognized for innovative
teaching, publication productivity, and dedication to the St.
John's tradition of academic excellence. The Division has been
offering courses in Oakdale since Fall 2000, on a campus located on
175 acres of scenic grounds overlooking the Great South Bay.
The Division's facility is located in the Benilde Hall Library
and consists of classrooms, microcomputer lab, a student lounge,
and an office. Classes are offered on Monday evenings, Wednesday
evenings, and on Saturdays. Academic and career advisement takes
place in Oakdale and matriculated students may be complete the
registration process online.
