Laptop
Program
In Fall 2008 the DLIS began participating in University’s laptop
program. Every incoming student will receive a St. John’s laptop to
support their academic work. Additional specialized software can be
loaded onto the laptop as needed. Ownership of the laptop is
transferred to the student upon successful completion of the

Each laptop comes equipped

- Microsoft Office Professional
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- McAfee Anti-virus
- Abundant computing power, memory, and hard disk space to last
the student through graduation
- Writable CD-Rom drives for backup and file transfer
- 802.11b/g wireless, 10/100MB wired Ethernet, 56kb dialup modem
and infrared
