Rev. Brian J. O'Connell, CM. Library Studies Scholarship
This scholarship will be available for matriculated students in the MLS and Advanced Certificate programs. The scholarship is awarded for academic merit, based on GPA. Students at DLIS will receive scholarships based on the GPA of their most recent degree.

  • If the GPA is 3.8 to 4.0, the student will receive a scholarship of $810 per 3 credit course,
  • If the GPA is 3.6 to 3.79, the student will receive a scholarship of $600 per 3 credit course.
  • If the GPA is 3.4 to 3.59, the student will receive a scholarship of $550 per 3 credit course.

The scholarship is named for the late Dean of St. John's college of Liberal Arts and Science of which Library and Information Science is a Division. That the University might provide merit scholarships to students in Library and Information Science, was made possible by a planning initiative of Fr. O'Connell's.
