Computer Lab & Lounge

Includes 18 Terminals & Printer Only For Use By DLIS Students!
Laboratories and electronic classrooms in the Division and University for:

  • Online access to the Internet, e-mail, OCLC, DIALOG, Lexis/Nexis, DowJones, CDP, Wilsonline, and Westlaw, among others and the creation of bibliographic, textual, geographic, and numeric databases
  • Our facilities include a laptop based wireless network with full Internet access which allows us to use any of the DLIS classrooms as an electronic classroom. This equipment supplements our electronic classroom equipped with 18 student IBM workstations and a teacher station
  • All DLIS classrooms have teacher workstations and computer projection systems. One classroom uses a Proxima portable projection system. The other classrooms are equipped with full sized ceiling mounted Proxima projections sytems. All classrooms are equipped with overhead projectors, document cameras, and have video tape recorders

All DLIS classrooms were refurbished in 1997. They are now carpeted and freshly painted and equipped with all new furniture.

The DLIS Lounge
The lounge was refurbished in 1997. It is now carpeted and has all new comfortable furniture. It is also equipped with a microwave oven and toaster. The lounge is open to all DLIS students, faculty and staff. Students use the facility for studying, group projects or simply to relax between classes!
