  • City College (1967-1970) ‑ New York State Regents Scholarship, Dean's List, French Award, Phi Beta Kappa, Graduated Magna Cum Laude.
  • Columbia University (1970-1971) ‑ Full tuition scholarship for Master's Program at School of Library Service.
  • Publication selected by a jury for inclusion in Library Lit: The Best of 1988.
  • St. John's University - Merit Awards for Research Productivity, 1989 - 2002 (Annually).
  • Association of Jewish Libraries, Fanny Goldstein Merit Award, presented June 23, 1992, in Los Angeles, "in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Association and Judaical librarianship."
  • Faculty Outstanding Achievement Medal, awarded by the President of St. John's University at a Convocation held June 8, 1994.
  • American Society of Indexers, Hines Award "for distinguished service to the Society and the profession," awarded May 1998 in Seattle.
  • Invited to serve as a judge for the H.W. Wilson Award for Excellence in Indexing. Judging held March 19, 2000, in New York City.
  • Invited to serve as a member of the Hines Award Committee of the American Society of Indexers. Awardee selected Spring 2002.
  • Lifting Up the World with a Oneness Heart, Award from Srichin Moy of the United Nations, 2003.
  • St. John's University, Recognition Award for Research Productivity, 2003.

Many of my publications were cited in a British anthology on indexing, in a new edition of a textbook on indexing, and in various articles in the field of information science.
