Contracted by the Nassau County Library Association to
design a workshop for professional librarians on the role and use
of print business resources in public library reference
service.

Developed and taught eight instructional sessions for public
services staff. These two-part electronic resources workshops were
designed to enhance staff expertise with the myriad databases
available on the NYPL online catalog and increase reference
department use of the library’s electronic databases.

System, Ardsley, NY. Professional Staff Training Consultant.
Contracted by the Westchester Library System to design and
present a professional development program on improving and
evaluating reference skills. This well-received workshop was held
on November 9 at the North White Plains Library.
1997, June. New York Public Library, New
York, NY. Internet Training Consultant.
Prepared and taught a two-part “Train the Internet Trainer”
workshop for staff of the Central Libraries. These sessions were
intended to prepare existing staff to assume a more active role in
Internet training. The classes emphasized presentation skills and
teaching strategies as well as content planning.

Prepared and presented advanced Internet training workshops
for professional librarians as part of the Queens Borough Public
Library Staff Training program; prepared subject guides to Internet
resources in multiculturalism, education and career planning.

Prepared and provided introductory and advanced Internet
training for the branch libraries’ staff as part of the New York
Public Library Staff Training program organized by Library Data
Services, Inc.; created subject guides to Internet resources in
