Employers increasingly seek professionals with the ability to
communicate effectively, superior analytical skills and a broad
knowledge of the forces shaping our ever-changing world. For many
professionals, an advanced degree in history is the ideal
way to strengthen these abilities while building their
credentials.
You can build your skills, broaden your knowledge and bolster
your credentials through the widely respected
Master of Arts degree program in History at St. John’s
University. Offered through the Graduate Division of St. John’s
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the program features small
classes, convenient scheduling and access to acclaimed faculty.
Many of our M.A. graduates move into teaching at the secondary
school level. Others choose to pursue doctoral degrees. There also
is increasing demand from private companies, nonprofit
organizations and cultural institutions for students with a solid
grounding in history who possess advanced skills in writing,
analytical thinking and research.
The
Doctor of Arts degree program in Modern World History leads to
an earned doctorate designed for educators in four-year colleges
and universities. The doctorate is also a valuable credential for
teachers in secondary schools and community colleges, educational
administrators, publishing professionals and professionals in other
fields as well.
