Program Costs

For those students who are not awarded scholarships please review the below information on program costs.

Tuition and Fees
Please view the University Tuition information for program costs. The cost per credit is $905. Other applicable fees may apply.

The University administration reserves the right, whenever advisable, to change or modify its schedule of tuition and fees. Every effort is made to maintain them at the lowest possible level.

Travel to Rome

Students are responsible for booking their travel arrangements to and from Rome.  Saint John's University will not cover the cost of airline tickets and/or any travel expenses.

Room and Board in Rome

Students in the GDSJ program are advised to stay at the Unicaritas facilities while in Rome. The tentative cost for the July 2010 month in Rome is $2,628 which includes housing for the full 32 nights that each student is required to be in Rome and three full meals per day.  This fee does NOT apply to students awarded the Unicaritas scholarship.

U.S. Federal Loans for American Citizens
American students who are interested in studying in Rome are eligible to apply for federal graduate loans in the U.S. This process should be started in January and can be started prior to receiving an acceptance to St. John's University. The University deadline for filing the FAFSA is Feb. 1 each year.

The following is a brief description of the financial aid application process:

First, students must fill out a  FAFSA form, this may be done on-line. You must include the SJU Title IV Code: 002823.

The U.S. government will automatically notify SJU that you have filed for loans. You should receive a copy of the form you filed in the mail, you will be asked to confirm that all the information is correct and to mail it back to the U.S. government agency.

Once you are admitted to St. John's and the university has received your FAFSA (this comes from the U.S. agency), the university will process your loan request.

St. John's will send you a package and a financial letter. Then you will have to complete the necessary forms provided by the financial aid office and return them via mail to the university.
