St. John's University Hosts Asian Lectures in April

Jamaica, NY - St. John's University's Center of Asian Studies will host a paid of lectures in the month of April. Both events will be held in the Seminar Room of Sun Yat-Sen Hall on the Queens Campus, 8000 Utopia Parkway, Jamaica, NY.

Dr. Thomas B Lee, Professor, American Studies at Tamkang University, Taiwan
What Would the U. S. - Iraq War Mean for Asian Countries

Dr. Lee is the author of A Quest for Ethics I Diplomacy: The Role of American Missionaries in East Asian International Relations, 1850-1950, and other books.

Dr. Edward Wang, Chair and Professor, History Department at Rowan University
Rae, Identity, and History in East Asia

Dr. Wang is the author of Inventing China through History: the May Fourth Approach to Historiography, Suny Press, 2001; Turning Points in Historiography: A Cross-Cultural Perspective (co-edited with George Iggers) Rochester U. Press, 2002, and Taiwan Shixue 50 nian, 1950-2000 (Taiwan's historiography of the last 50 years).
