25 Wednesday -Last day to apply for spring Doctoral and Master’s Comprehensive

Examination and for Doctoral Qualifying and Writing Examinations.

31 Monday -January degrees awarded.

FEBRUARY

6 Monday -Readers’ copies of Doctoral dissertations and Master’s theses for degrees

in May to be submitted to the departmental Chair by this date.

24 Friday -Doctoral Comprehensive Examination.

-Master’s Comprehensive Examination.

MARCH

9 Friday -Doctoral Comprehensive Examination and D.A. Writing Competency

Examinations.

15 Thursday -Last day to submit coursework or extension form for incomplete Fall 2011.

16 Friday --Doctoral Comprehensive and Qualifying Examinations.

APRIL

6 Friday -Final Oral Examinations (defense) for all candidates for Doctoral degrees in

May 2012 to have been held by this date.

9 Monday -Readers’ copies of Doctoral dissertations and Master’s theses for degrees

in September to be submitted to the departmental Chair by this date.

24 Tuesday -Editorial copy of dissertations must be handed in to Dean’s Office for May

degrees.

MAY

1 Tuesday -Completed theses and dissertations for all degrees in May to be submitted

to the Office of the Dean by this date. Microfilm fee to be paid at this time.

-Last day to apply for summer Doctoral and Master’s Comprehensive

Examinations (for departments offering the examinations).

4 Friday Last Day (close of business) to apply for Diploma via UIS

Must be done on UIS, paper application for Diploma no longer available

12 Saturday -Commencement Exercises –Staten Island Campus

13 Sunday -Commencement Exercises-Queens Campus

JUNE

27 Monday -Doctoral Comprehensive Examination and Master’s Comprehensive

Examination (for departments offering the examination).

JULY

TBA Sunday -Commencement Exercises- Rome campus (Graduate)

August

4 Thursday -Last date to file a diploma application for September conferral.

26 Friday -Final Oral Exam (defense) for Doctoral degrees in September 2012.
