St. John’s School of Law Celebrated 80 Years of Academic Excellence

St. John's University School of Law celebrated 80 years of academic excellence with a reception which was held at Murals on 54 in the Warwick Hotel in New York City. The evening was hosted by the School of Law Alumni Association and Mary C. Daly, Dean and John V. Brennan, Professor of Law and Ethics, St. John’s School of Law. The reception honored esteemed alumnus and former Dean of the School of Law and New York State Court of Appeals Judge, the Honorable Joseph W. Bellacosa.

Distinguished alumni, Kings County District Attorney, Hon. Charles J. Hynes and former Police Commissioner, Hon. Robert J. McGuire, both classmates of Judge Bellacosa, announced the establishment of the Hon. Joseph W. Bellacosa Distinguished Jurist in Residence Program,” named in honor of Judge Bellacosa.

Joining in the festivities from the New York State Court of Appeals were Chief Judge Judith Kaye and Hon. Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick, a graduate from the Law School. It was a wonderful evening with over 200 alumni on hand to celebrate the success of St. John’s Law School.
