School of Law to Sponsor 2008 Northeast People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference

The Ronald H. Brown Center for Civil Rights and Economic Development is proud to sponsor the 2008 Northeast People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference from September 12-14, 2008. This is an annual gathering of law faculty from across the nation to discuss issues and topics of concern to communities of color.

This year our theme is Education & the Economy: The Real Lives of People of Color. Four members of the law faculty here at St. John’s are participating: Elaine M. Chiu, Rosemary Salomone, Cheryl Wade and finally, Leonard Baynes who will be receiving the prestigious Haywood Burns-Shanara Gilbert Award.
