St. John’s University has raised close to $97,000 for the
American Cancer Society (ACS) with its Relay for Life events held
at their Staten Island and Queens campuses during the month of
April, breaking fund raising records for this worthwhile community
endeavor. The final totals are expected to surpass the $100,000
mark once all contributions are counted. This tally exceeded this
year’s goal of $80,000, with all proceeds going to ACS to support
research, improve treatment, provide health services to
low-income patients and raise awareness.
The annual event
debuting for the first time on the Staten Island campus (April 20)
